Lea Michele’s Been Drinking Since She Was a Toddler! (VIDEO)

Lea Michele (Rachel) prides herself on being one of the few starlets in Hollywood who is not behaving wildly and stumbling out of nightclubs, so we were surprised to learn, during her May 29 interview on Chelsea Lately, that Lea actually started drinking alcohol at a very young age. Even vodka-loving Chelsea Handler was impressed!

While discussing Lea’s book, Brunette Ambition, Chelsea mentions in the video above that the Glee actress writes about hitting the hooch as a little girl. "You’ve been drinking since you were a little toddler," the talk show host declared.

"It makes me seem crazy!" Lea said with a laugh, but Chelsea was very intrigued.

The newly-minted New York Times bestselling author went on to explain, "I'm Italian, so at the dinner table it would be like Pellegrino, a jug of soda, and a huge thing of wine. Everyone was just drinking wine, like it was part of what you would have along with your dinner."

Lea’s parents may have been cool with the occasional drink at dinner when she was younger, but the now 27-year-old got herself into some trouble once she started going out with others. "Growing up, I'd be having dinner with my boyfriend and his parents, and I'd be like, 'Where's the wine? Pass the wine.' At like 17! And they're like, 'This girl's crazy,’" Lea recalled.

Still, Lea actually thinks it was good that her parents exposed her to alcohol at such a young age. "When they make it so you can have it, then you don't want it," she reasoned. "It's when they're like, 'You can't have this,' [that] kids are like, 'We gotta get that booze.’"

What we wouldn’t give to hear tales of Lea as a tipsy toddler. Brunette Ambition 2, perhaps! Check out the complete clip above and let us know what you think of Lea’s big reveal.
