If you enjoy reading Lea Michele’s (Rachel) hilarious and heartfelt tweets as much as we do, then we won’t be surprised if this latest news causes you to start camping out in front of your local Barnes & Noble immediately.
Lea has just signed a book deal with Harmony Books and will write a book all about her ever-glamorous life — entitled Brunette Ambition — to come out next spring, according to the New York Times.
So what will Lea’s book be about? Frankly, it doesn’t matter, since we’d read anything she writes. But the book sounds particularly interesting, with the press release describing it as “part memoir, part how-to, and part style guide.” It will detail her journey “from normal Bronx-born schoolgirl to Broadway child star to lead actress in one of the most popular shows on television.”
Plus, the book will also offer a “behind-the-scenes perspective” of Lea’s experience in showbiz, including her adventures on Broadway with Spring Awakening and Les Misérables, followed by her time on Glee and in films like New Year’s Eve.
“There wasn’t a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I would need to do, and know, to get where I am today,” Lea explains. “But I believe I can write one of sorts: not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm and hard work to make your dreams come true.” Sounds like something Rachel would read.
Her Glee co-stars Jane Lynch (Sue) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) have also written memoirs, while Chris Colfer (Kurt) has authored three children’s/young adult novels so far.
We can’t wait to buy Lea’s book and read it cover-to-cover on the first night it comes out! And now the only question is, how will Lea possibly find time to write a book amidst her insanely busy schedule? However she does it, we certainly aren’t complaining!
