Leah Messer Opens Up About Ali’s Muscular Dystrophy Diagnosis: “I Was in Complete Shock” (VIDEO)
Our hearts broke into a million pieces during this week's episode of Teen Mom 2, in which Leah Messer learned the sad news that her daughter, Aliannah Hope, would have to be in a wheelchair thanks to her muscular dystrophy diagnosis. Leah definitely wasn't prepared for this shocking turn of events, and could barely contain her tears on the long drive back home from the hospital.
Leah and her husband, Jeremy Calvert, sat down with MTV to chat about Ali's condition, and opened up about their feelings. "I was in complete shock when they told me I had to look into ordering her a wheelchair," Leah revealed during Teen Mom 2's Season 5, Episode 3 after show. "We weren't ready to accept it, I guess. We knew it was coming, but we didn't know how to deal with it when it hit."
Jeremy also weighed in on Ali's latest hurdle, saying, "I consider them my kids even though their dad's Corey," he explained. "I consider them my own. I'm with them six days a week when I'm not working."
Leah and Jeremy also explained how they're able to comfort each other during the rough times, and Leah had some very sweet things to say about her man. "I do know when you do comfort me I feel like how when you feel safe in someone's arms," she told Jeremy. "You feel like you're at peace, almost. And that's how I feel whenever you comfort me."
Ummm, excuse us while we go sob on our boyfriend's shoulder. By which we mean our pillow's shoulder.
