Leah Messer Reveals More About Her Plans to Enroll in College (UPDATE)

UPDATE (11/3/16 at 9:54 a.m. ET):

Leah Messer is already moving forward with her plans to return to school!

While her ex-husband Jeremy Calvert is dealing with backlash over a photo he posted of their daughter Adalynn holding a rifle, the Teen Mom 2 mama is making better use of her time, and has already taken the English placement exam for college.

The Instagram upload also reveals she's enrolling in West Virginia State University, and she's getting her degree to "be an example for my daughters."

Way to go, Leah!

ORIGINAL STORY (10/19/16 at 4:02 p.m. ET):

It’s never too late to get your education!

Leah Messer is finally going to college to get her degree and pursue a career that she put on the back burner to have her children.

If it seems random that the Teen Mom 2 star suddenly wants to get back to the books, it’s really not.

The 25-year-old revealed via Instagram on October 19 that now is the perfect time since her youngest daughter, Addie, is in school herself, giving Leah more time to devote to her own studies.

“I always said I would wait until all my girls were in school and then I would go,” she captioned the cute photo of her 3-and-a-half-year-old in the classroom.

“It's finally that time to finish what I want to pursue in my career and start the college life as a mom of 3.”

The West Virginia gal, who’s also mom to 6-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah, has dabbled in a few jobs over the years, including being a nurse, an esthetician, and a hairstylist.

She didn’t specify what career path she wants to pursue long-term, but we’ll hopefully find out soon!

If Leah ends up getting her bachelor’s degree, she’ll be only the second girl in the franchise to do so. Kailyn Lowry is just a few credits shy from a BA in Mass Communications, while the rest of the OGs and TM2 gals have associate’s degrees, high school diplomas or GEDs.
