Leah Messer Loses Custody of Twins to Corey Simms — Report
UPDATE (10/21/15 3:00 p.m ET):
Though The Ashley can't confirm if In Touch's below report is entirely true, the site is saying that Corey and Leah did indeed have a custody hearing last week. Ashley also claims Jeremy Calvert, Leah's other ex-husband, is going to file for full custody of Addie, especially after a recent incident in which the two-year-old wandered out of the house and was found by police while Leah was distracted.

ORIGINAL STORY (10/21/15 1:49 p.m ET):
We’ve seen the Teen Mom 2 exes argue about their custody arrangement of their daughters, Ali and Aleeah, on the show, and have heard about it off-screen. So, what’s the latest?
According to a new report, Leah has lost custody of her five-year-old twins as of October 13. “Corey was awarded primary custody, effective immediately,” a source told In Touch. Apparently, Leah now only gets the girls on the weekends.
Leah did tweet out these messages last weekend while taking her daughters pumpkin-picking, though this isn’t necessarily fodder for these claims:
There's nothing like actually having actual QUALITY time with my girls, for once. We aren't running around to apts but INSTEAD ..Leah D. Messer (@TM2LeahDawn) October 17, 2015
We are having a fun filled weekend together l. ENJOYING each other as a family. At the end of the day that's what matters most ! #memoriesLeah D. Messer (@TM2LeahDawn) October 17, 2015
If this rumor is in fact true, though, it’s been a long time coming. As we saw on the show, Corey first filed for full custody last year when he suspected Leah had an issue with prescription pills. Though Leah has adamantly denied her ex’s claims — she did eventually go to rehab, but apparently for “depression and anxiety” rather than addiction — Corey wasn’t so convinced.
We’ve also seen tardiness as an issue for Leah. In Season 6, she was late bringing the girls to school a few times and in Season 5, she had issues with getting Ali, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, on time to therapy.
And now with Leah’s semi-recent divorce from Jeremy Calvert, she moved again, and, as we saw on the Teen Mom 2 Season 6 reunion, Corey didn’t seem to be too fond of the idea of his girls moving around and not having a stable home environment when they’re with their mother.
Also during the Teen Mom 2 Season 6 reunion and Unseen Moments specials, Leah gave fans an update on the custody situation, mostly saying that nothing had changed and she still has full custody of all three of her daughters.
We have a hard time believing In Touch’s claims and that the arrangement has changed so drastically in just the few short months since those specials were filmed in July, but we don’t really know what to think anymore. Sigh.
As always, stay tuned!
