Many fans were surprised when Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani were eliminated on the Dancing With the Stars Season 17 Semifinals, but no one was more upset than Leah’s 9-year-old daughter, Sofia.
"She was basically hysterical crying,” Leah told Good Morning America in a Tuesday interview with Tony. “She was so proud of me but she really wanted me to stay. And she was going to miss Tony."
Tony said Sofia had him in tears, too. "She was like 'Does this mean that you're not going to come to the house anymore?'" Aww! He said he’s part of the family now, so they will definitely keep in touch.
Last night, after they were announced as the couple to go home, Tony said he's been on the show for 16 seasons and he never looked forward to practice as much as his time with Leah. She would always go the extra mile for him, Tony said, even bringing incense and candles to rehearsals. "She made me laugh every single day. ... We got along great. Words can't describe how much fun we had."
Week 10’s guest judge, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was also on GMA — he was in New York as Leah and Tony were shown from L.A. Maks and Tony are best friends, and they talked about how when one has a good day, the other tends to have a bad one. Last night was a good night for Maks, but Tony joked that it would've been great for his best friend to give him a 10 so it could’ve been a good night for him too!
Maybe Leah will end up Tony’s new BFF, especially since she’s pushing for him to make more money. "I did my best,” she told GMA. “Tony really had his work cut out for him. They should give him a raise. He's my best friend, my therapist and he's not even getting anything for that, if you know what I mean." Tony laughed. "He's just an amazing, amazing human being."
Very sweet. Head to GMA to watch the full interview with Leah, Tony and Maks.
