Glee star Cory Monteith’s (Finn) death is still hard for any of us to accept, so we can imagine that it still must be extremely tough on his longtime girlfriend Lea Michele (Rachel). Now, a new report claims Lea has been turning to an ex for friendship and support.
Lea and Cory were first rumored to be a couple back in November 2011, and they stayed together until Cory’s tragic death in July 2013. Before their romance, Lea dated actor Theo Stockman, who is best known for the Broadway show American Idiot, and where he co-starred with with John Gallagher Jr., a former castmate of Lea’s in Spring Awakening.
According to the UK’s Look magazine, Theo — who dated Lea until September 2011 — has been reaching out to her since Cory’s death and is doing her best to keep her spirits up. "Of course, Lea is broken by Cory's death,” a source says. “That isn't going to change in the near future, and I think she's accepted that things will be tough for quite a long time.”
"But Theo's support is definitely helping her,” the insider adds. “The fact he got in contact wasn't a surprise, but his unwavering optimism and ability to make her laugh is really helping." The source also adds that Theo hasn’t had any serious relationships since he and Lea broke up, and that he “clearly still cares deeply” about Lea.Theo is based in NYC, but recently ventured out to sunny California to spend time with Lea. “He even took a trip over to Los Angeles in September so they could spend a few days together while she was working there,” a source continues. “I imagine Lea was really touched by that.”
If this report about Theo supporting her is indeed true, we appreciate that he is doing what he can to help Lea, who reportedly talks about Cory all the time with friends. Theo and Lea have a lot of history, so it’s great that he can be so supportive. We continue to wish Lea all the best.
