LeAnn Rimes Felt “Disgusted” and “Pathetic” Over Eddie Cibrian Affair
Brandi Glanville might be done talking about ex-husband Eddie Cibrian and his current wife, LeAnn Rimes.
But LeAnn isn’t quite ready to stop talking about the sordid incident that brought her and Eddie together. The country singer started up an affair with the actor in 2009 while filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights, which led to Eddie’s divorce from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and LeAnn’s own split with then-spouse Dean Sheremet.
Opening up to Us Weekly, LeAnn confessed she was plagued by guilt over her affair with Eddie, which eventually led her to seek treatment for stress and anxiety in August 2012. Her upcoming album, Spitfire, contains a number of songs inspired by that dark time.
“I think I opened up the can of worms for myself by writing this record,” LeAnn Rimes said about rehashing her tryst with Eddie. “I was feeling these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic.”
A perfect snapshot of that difficulttime is found in the lyrics to “Borrowed,” in which LeAnn sings “I don’t want to give you back” to her married lover.
Now, the crooner is in a much better place and has accepted her past mistakes.
“I’m the strongest I’ve ever been,” she said. “I’m the most honest with myself that I’ve ever been about myself and my family , and I’m the most confident I’ve been in a really long time.”
Will you be listening to LeAnn’s new album when it comes out on June 4?
