Rihanna Learns to Pole Dance For “Pour It Up” Music Video (PHOTO)
Submitted for your approval: Rihanna is only now learning how to pole dance. We would have thought that this Rated R singer and her "badgalriri" persona would have learned to work that gilded axle years ago.
Yet the 25-year-old claims the pole-dancing tutorial she received on the set of her forthcoming "Pour It Up" music video — all of which she documented on Instagram — is the first time she spun around the shimmery pole.
"My first pole lesson #pouritup #bts," she wrote in the caption of a photo that shows her grasping the pole, dressed in a leotard and a backward baseball cap, as her be-thonged instructor shows her where to put her leg — the whole seedy scene bathed in a Hulk-hued green light. (Check it out below.)
Subsequent snapshots show the "Diamonds" songstress dippin' it low, slinking against the pole, and backing that behind up. "Am I getting it?" she writes.
We'd say she's got the gist, yeah.
Rihanna's pole professor, aptly named Nicole "The Pole" Williams, posted her audition video for the gig to YouTube, showing off an acrobatic level of gyration and strength. In one part of the video, she holds herself on the ceiling using only her thighs. It's sincerely impressive.
Are you looking forward to RiRi's music video, or do you think that pole dancing should be left to "gentlemen's clubs"? Let us know below!
