Camille Grammer on Life After Cancer and Alleged Abuse: “I’m Doing Well”

Its been a hard, long autumn for Camille Grammer, as the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star had to endure a radical hysterectomy after learning she had endometrial cancer in early October.

Thankfully, Camille’s keeping her head up and she’s fighting to move forward. In a new interview with The Dr. Oz Show, the 45-year-old star opens up on her recovery, as well as the horrible abuse she reportedly suffered at the hands of her now ex-boyfriend, Dimitri Charalambopoulos.

“My heart sank,” Camille reveals of the moment she first diagnosed with cancer. “You think about your children. Am I going to make it? I want to be alive for them. My ex-husband [Kelsey Grammer] hasn’t seen the kids since July. So I really needed to be there for them.”

Luckily, after weeks of bedrest, Camille is finally getting back to her regular self. “Now I’m feeling great. Once in awhile I’ll get a little pain here and there, but I’m walking around. My life is moving forward and I’m feeling very well.”

Unfortunately, cancer wasn’t the only scary situation Camille found herself in earlier this fall. Just days after leaving the hospital, the reality star suffered serious bruises from domestic violence. According to reports, Camille was granted a restraining order after she was physically abused during a fight with Dimitri in a Houston hotel.

Much like her former co-star Taylor Armstrong, Camille hopes to be a positive influence on women who have experienced the same thing. She’s encouraging women to speak out against their abusers, as well as seek recovery through therapy.

“I was physically abused and assaulted by this person and it was very traumatizing. But I’m going to be okay. I’m doing well.”

Don’t miss the rest of Camille’s interview on The Dr. Oz Show when it airs Thursday, November 14 at 11 a.m.
