Looks to us like the cast of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta needs to hire an accountant, stat! Star Lil Scrappy is the latest cast member of the hit VH1 franchise being wracked by financial woes. The Jasmine Brand reports that the 30-year-old rapper-turned-reality TV star was slapped with a tax lien in addition to the over $260 thousand he owes as a result of lost lawsuits.
So how does it all breakdown? Well, according to the site, Scrap currently owes about $150,000 to a man named Chancy Hope, who won a lawsuit against the rapper. The reality star owes another $108,510.38 to concert booking company, Heavy Rotation, who also sued the rapper and won.
In addition, Scrappy failed to pay his taxes in 2006, which at the time only amounted to $2,927.00. However, since 2006, that little tax sum has racked up quite a few changes including over $900 in interest, over $3000.00 in penalties, and another $1,374 dollars in collection fees. Oh, and he’s also slapped with a fee of 25 bucks at the end of it all, bringing his combined lien fee to a whopping $8,270.18.
As it stands, Scrappy’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta checks are being garnished for the larger settlements against him. The Department of Revenue tried to put a lien on some of Scrap’s assets in order to get back their money, but were unable to find anything to put a lien on at the moment.
Sigh. Hopefully Scrappy’s check from this season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta will help square off his money problems. After all, we can’t have two of our stars in prison for unpaid money…
