Lilly Ghalichi Talks Big New York Fashion Week Debut, New Jewelry Line — Exclusive

Lilly Ghalichi may be a self-proclaimed “Persian Princess,” but this gal is certainly no stranger to hard work. The 31-year-old beauty — who rose to fame on Bravo’s Shahs of Sunset — is an entrepreneur with a massive beauty empire and, with no signs of slowing down, she’s ready to take the world by storm with three new ventures just around the corner.

With her rapidly-expanding empire, it’s a wonder Lilly hasn’t taken over the whole world by now! Speaking exclusively to Wetpaint Entertainment, Lilly dished all about her new jewelry line with Avitan Jewelry, her upcoming champagne venture called Glampagne, and her New York Fashion Week debut with!

Wetpaint Entertainment: Tell us about your new jewelry collection with Avitan Jewelry!

Lilly Ghalichi: I’m very excited about my jewelry! I have a motto when it comes to fashion: ‘You save with clothes and splurge with accessories.’ With clothes, you can wear things only a couple of times. They go out of style, you may outgrow them, your body changes, so you shouldn’t spend a lot of money on clothes. Fashion should be fun, but it should be affordable. With accessories, that’s something that can last for years and years. You can not only wear it forever, you can sell it because it has resale value — especially gold and diamonds.

So when I decided to do a jewelry line, I knew right away I wanted it to all be real precious metals and all real precious stones. So the entire line is real gold — you can get white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold — and all of the stones are diamonds. It’s a really fun, flirty, young line. You can take them from day to night. It’s also super affordable — we capped the price point as low as we could — and, because everything is real, it has that resale value, so it’s a really great investment.

We also hear you have a champagne coming out — how’d that come about?

My champagne line is really fun, we call it Glampagne! I’m not a big drinke — growing up I was teased a lot for not drinking and people would say I was boring. Our champagne line caters to those who want non-alcoholic champagne, so all of our champagnes will be offered in non-alcoholic versions that come in the exact same beautiful bottle and great taste.

That being said, I have started drinking within the last year and I tend to want to drink champagne. I decided to make my own line and to make it fun and super glamorous. We’re hoping to launch that mid-September, so right after New York Fashion Week.

Speaking of Fashion Week, we hear you’re debuting a new women’s wear collection!

I’m designing a collection for, which is an affordable fashion retail site. The show is actually a collaboration of three designers — Michael Costello, Walter Mendez, and myself. Our show is on September 10!

I’ll be designing about 16 pieces for the collection and my stuff is really fun. I’ve spent over 20 years and millions of dollars in research and development shopping, so I’m putting all of that to good use by designing pieces that I love to wear. Pieces that are sexy and flatter a woman’s body, but also not too revealing. That’s kind of my style! I love to be sexy but I don’t like to cross that line by being too scandalous.

The collection is comprised of really fun textures for the fall. We have a lot of see-through mesh, faux leather, faux furs, lace — everything in my collection is 100 percent animal-friendly. I worked really hard to source the highest quality faux fabrics, so I think it’s going to be really fun, edgy, and chic collection.

Is this your first NYFW? Has that been nerve–racking?

This is my first NYFW! I’m more excited than nervous, but I’m definitely nervous as well. I’ve designed swimwear before, but I’ve never designed ready-to-wear, so this is my first time doing that. I have some constraints because WantMyLook is an affordable site, so we need to make sure all of our designs can be affordable. We want to keep the price point for the entire outfit $99 or below — or, preferably, $49 and below.

What is it like balancing all of these moving parts in your massive empire?

It’s so difficult and I find myself running out of time, energy, and sleep. My fiancé is really great and he helps me as much as he can to stay balanced and on task. I think that after NYFW and my champagne launch, I’m going to take a vacation and take a step back. It’s important to work hard, but it’s also important to enjoy your life.
