Lindsay Lohan Opens Up About Cocaine Use: “I’m an Addict”

Lindsay Lohan has only been out of rehab for a few weeks and already, she's made so much progress.

She's landed a plum acting gig on "Eastbound and Down," she's done the work necessary to allow her to take a real moral inventory, and she's finally found a sunless tanner that doesn't leave her palms all streaky.

The Canyons star sat down with Oprah on Sunday night for an interview on OWN in which the actress revealed that she had not been entirely truthful in the past regarding the severity of her addiction.

"I'm an addict," admitted Lindsay, who self-identified as an alcoholic. She admitted that, while she had previously downplayed her cocaine use, she had snorted the drug between 10 and 15 times, but had lied about it because she was "terrified of being judged."

"That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me," said Lindsay. "I tried cocaine with alcohol."

Despite her drug use, she said she never enjoyed cocaine, only its effects when combined with alcohol. "I never felt good the next day… [but it] allowed me to drink more. It was a party thing. People would have it, and I'd do it."

Lindsay also admitted that she'd given up all prescription drugs, except for an acid reflux medication — including ADHD medication Adderall, known for its amphetamine-like effects.

While Lindsay's bloodstream may be clean these days, she admitted that she's always been the heart of her own problems, claiming that she is, to some degree, addicted to chaos. However, despite her propensity for trouble, Lindsay said she's ready for a change.

"[I'm ready] to get the thing that has made me happiest my whole life back, which is to work really hard, stay focused and prove myself," she said. "I have to regain trust in people, in my career, that had doubts, and I fully respect that on their behalf. As long as I stay honest in myself and do the work I'm willing to do and have been willing to do and am doing, then nothing can stand in my way. I am my own worst enemy, and I know that."

During the interview that night, Oprah and Lindsay live-tweeted the conversation, adding even more insights into the actress's mindset. Here are some highlights:
