In the big interview that preceded Lindsay Lohan’s OWN reality show, we learned one important thing about her new pal, Oprah: Not only is she rooting for Lindsay to beat her addiction and put her life back together, but she’s also not willing to hear any excuses. Oprah’s a no-nonsense kind of gal — exactly the person Lindsay needs in her life right now.
“She’s become a guiding light to me,” Lindsay said during a recent appearance on Late Night With David Letterman. “She’s been an amazing human being to me in my life.”
Lindsay was so wrapped up in her love for Oprah that she decided, totally spur of the moment, to call her boss on the phone — and despite David saying no way, she (and the audience’s cheers) eventually won the battle. In fact, David decided to bet Lindsay she couldn’t get through to Oprah, and Linds took that bet.
The verdict: Oprah actually answers the phone, and David — in falsetto — tries to pass himself off as Lindsay’s secretary, but it doesn’t work. Please, do they think Oprah was born yesterday? Either way, when he asks her how he thinks Lindsay’s doing, what Oprah has to say brings Lindsay to tears.
“I think she’s doing really okay,” Oprah said. “To have cameras following you around everywhere for every phase of your life and you’re trying to pull your life together, I think that’s a really difficult thing. We’re really pleased that she’s making some progess.”
Check out the sweet moment below. How much do you want to hug everyone involved?!
