Selena Gomez Realized She’s “Living In a Bubble” After Her Trip to Nepal (VIDEO)

A trip to a third world country can be eye opening for anyone, but when Selena Gomez visited Nepal to work with children there as a UNICEF ambassador, it really helped put her life in perspective. In fact, it helped her realize that that worrying about certain things — like everyone’s obsession over whether or not she’s dating Justin Bieber on any given day — just isn’t worth it.

“I’m living in a bubble,” Selena tells ABC News. “I think, essentially, most people are, when they’re constantly on their phones or when they’re constantly thinking of their every day.”

“You tend to easily forget how incredible it is that we have a roof over our heads right now,” she adds. “I was visiting with children who were trying to beg their parents for a toilet, and we’re complaining we’ve gotta do stuff every day.”

Since Selena admits she’s pretty consumed by her hectic daily work schedule, it was a nice break from her reality to learn how other people live, and helped her realize that the things she stresses out about aren’t so bad, after all — especially since she’s loving her career so much.

“It’s easy to be pressured in this line of work,” Selena says. “There is this sense of pressure that you get to feel, but at the end of the day, I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to do.”

In the past, Selena’s family has worried about her working too much, and Selena even entered rehab for exhaustion in early 2014. But just because she tends to overdo it sometimes doesn’t mean she’s not loving it.

“I’ve always loved my life,” Selena says. “I think there are certain parts of my life I wish I could have to myself and things I could do and grow and experience. But it would almost be just hypocritical of me if I complained about it. I think it's silly sometimes what happens, but I love what I do and I guess I gotta deal with it."
