Pretty Little Liars Logic Fails: Season 5, Episode 3 — “Surfing the Aftershocks”

Rosewood and crazy logic go hand-in-hand; that's part of the appeal of Pretty Little Liars. This is a town where murder and mayhem don't even make us blink anymore. But even in the heightened world of Rosewood, there are some things that make us stop and say Hold on a second...

Sometimes it's something in the writing that doesn't make sense, and (more often) it's just that we want to reach through our TVs and smack the characters upside the head for making bad choices. Here are our picks for the biggest logic fails and WTF moments from Season 5, Episode 3 (“Surfing the Aftershocks”)

Where are the cops? The Liars mentioned that Mr. D kept the cops away before Mrs. D's funeral, but we're starting to really wonder why they haven't called the Liars (and Ali) in for a more thorough line of questioning. The episode opened with Ali being depressed over what was implied to be the course of several days; we just can't see Holden holding off for so long, especially now that there's another murder involved in the un-ending saga of Ali. He better start digging again, and soon.

Also, what about Shana? Spencer called the cops as the Liars were leaving the theater, which means Shana's body should have been found by now. Why are the Liars not worried they haven't heard anything about it? They really should have by now — the fact that they haven't make us think Shana is either alive or (more likely), someone cleaned the body up before the cops could get there. Someone like, say, "A". If we're thinking along those lines, why aren't the Liars freaking out about the lack of info on Shana?
