Grey’s Anatomy’s Loretta Devine Lands Psych Role

Loretta Devine is gone from Grey's Anatomy for good, unless we get to see Adele again in a flashback or dream sequence, or something like that. Fortunately, the beloved actress already has her next TV gig lined up — she's going to have a guest role on Psych Season 8!

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Loretta will appear in the fifth episode of the season as Melba Birdson, a "foxy" lady who used to sing backup for Myles Valour Jr. She's tracked down to help with a cold case from the sixties, and it turns out she's still performing.

We're looking forward to seeing Loretta take on what sounds like a very different role from Adele. Psych is a generally light hearted show, and it will be nice to see Loretta's sexy side take the forefront.
