One of the biggest shockers to come out of the three-part Season 6 Reunion of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was definitely the demise of the friendship between formerly-attached-at-the-hip pals, Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes. But, based on her BravoTV blog, Cynthia thinks she may be better off.
The drama started when NeNe had words with Cynthia's husband, Peter Thomas — and by "words," we mean that NeNe called Peter a "bitch" in front of everyone. At the time, Cynthia seemed to brush it off, but she was more upset about it than she let on — particularly once the episode aired and she had to relive the incident.
Since then, Cynthia and NeNe's friendship has fallen apart with little hope for reconciliation. Cynthia even said she's relieved over the "break up," and now she's saying that it could even benefit her friendship with the other women on the show.
In a recent Q&A with BravoTV, Cynthia looked to the future, sharing, "I'm looking forward to new beginnings. I've never gotten that close to the other girls on the show, and now that I'm not best buds with NeNe, some of the other ladies will be more open and I'll be more open to getting to know them."
Still, that doesn't mean she's dumping NeNe for Kenya Moore, as NeNe speculates.
"It's going to be a little different now. I'm on my own," Cynthia explains, adding, "NeNe keeps trying to say I'm BFFs with Kenya, but I'm still getting to know her. Just because I'm not Team NeNe anymore doesn't mean I'm Team Kenya. I'm just not Team NeNe anymore. I've got to be ready for it. Because I know NeNe isn't going to make it easy for me. But I'm up for the challenge."
