Love & Hip Hop star Somaya Reece was there from the show’s inception back in 2011, but left after only two seasons. Now that Mona Scott Young is currently filming the L.A. spin-off of the franchise, word has it that the Latin emcee just might be joining the fold… or will she? When The Jasmine Brand caught up with the rapper/actress, she was able to finally put the rumors to rest.

With regards to coming back to the VH1 family, Somaya admitted, “I don’t even have a problem with doing Love & Hip-Hop New York, however, she added, “My biggest thing is the whole Love & Hip Hop brand took an entirely different turn.” Somaya, who has since moved back to her hometown of L.A., has been making great strides in her music and acting endeavors, as well as her brand, businesses, and image. The raptress has undergone an amazing healthy body transformation and feels that all of these positive improvements might not get any shine on the show if she joins.

“I don’t know how Fitness With Friends would fit in. I don’t know how my positive movement would fit into it. It is a whole different turn. It is a new tone but if they were to get back to the music and things like that, then it makes sense. That is something that I was like talk to her about. I am always excited about putting out my brand and my music,” she told The Jasmine Brand.

Hmm… sounds to us like Somaya’s definitely interested and keeping the opportunity in mind!
