Before becoming the star of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Stevie J. was a big time hitmaker for Bad Boy records, scoring a Grammy for his work on Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You.” In addition to his work with the hip hop label, Stevie has also worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Eve (his former girlfriend), and even Jay Z and Beyonce! With a knack for producing and writing songs, it’s no surprise that Stevie also has a set of pipes on him and now it looks like he’s gearing up to give the world a listen!
On July 8, the reality star took to Instagram to give fans a peek at a rehearsal session, in which we hear the bad boy croon… and guys, Stevie doesn’t sound bad at all!
“#dzb @redletter103 @awp_keys @XeryusG @brunsonfactory rehearsal for NYC,” Stevie captioned the video, which was later followed by another Instavid of Sleaze jamming on a guitar with (we assume) a new track he’s written to “stay focus.”
Later, the hitmaker decided to give fans a second dose of his vocal performance, this time, a little longer.
Since posting the vids, Stevie has gotten quite the positive reception from fans, saying that he should definitely work on his own music career, rather than the career of his wife, Joseline Hernandez, whose music has been hit or miss with a lot of people.
Though we’re not sure what performance Stevie is getting ready for (a label showcase? the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3 reunion show?), we know we’re totally ready to hear what this guy’s got to offer musically.
