While VH1 and Love & Hip Hop executive producer Mona Scott Young has yet to confirm rumored spin-off show Love & Hip Hop L.A., new info on the show, which is said to be filming, has surfaced. According to TMZ, rapper Soulja Boy has joined the cast.

Sources tell TMZ that the Illinois native was added to the show’s lineup as a last ditch effort to shake things up and keep the show afloat. Those close to production dished that the show’s been struggling with weak storyline and uninteresting characters, despite R&B singer and all-around bad boy Ray J being the star of the show, and they hope for Soulja to liven things up a bit.

It’s been reported that producers think Soulja Boy and Ray J will be a big hit, and people close to Ray J gabbed that the singer is pumped to have Soulja Boy on board.

Aside from Ray J and Soulja Boy, the rumored cast line up includes rapper Yung Berg, former B2K artist and solo singer Omarion and his pregnant girlfriend, April Jones, as well as Power 106 Dj Yesi Ortiz and fitness extraordinaire Miss Joie (who’s also Shad “Bow Wow” Moss’s baby mama).

Ray J’s girlfriend, Princess Love, will also be featured on the show, in addition to Ray J’s friend (and possible love interest) Teairra Mari, who allegedly got into a physical altercation with Princess Love on the first day of shooting.

We’re not really certain as to why the show’s lacking drama — what with Princess Love recently had a very public fall out with Ray J where she destroyed some of his belongs, and you know, Ray J being charged with several assault charges — but we’re interested to see how Soulja Boy will fit into the thick of things. When you figure that Soulja Boy was once engaged to Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Lil’ Scrappy’s ex-girlfriend Diamond, there just might be a few shenanigans up his sleeve.
