Unfortunately, the ship has sailed for one The Love Boat actress and her husband. Jill Whelan — who famously played Vicki, Captain Stubing’s daughter, on the classic TV series — has filed for divorce, reports TMZ.
The 47-year-old actress submitted the necessary legal documents to end her marriage to husband John Chaykowsky earlier today (June 27). She cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
The two first met when Jill worked as an event producer at Madison Square Garden; she and John married more than a decade later on April 2004 (aboard a cruise ship, funny enough) and welcomed their son Grant in July 2006. She is requesting full legal and physical custody of Grant in addition to spousal support. Jill has another son, 19-year-old Harrison, from her first marriage to Brad St. John. That relationship ended in a bitter divorce in 2001.
Earlier in Jill's career she starred in The Young and the Restless and Airplane!. Since then, however, her acting gigs have been few and far between; her most recent screen work was in 2013 for the movie A Christmas Tree Miracle. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her two sons and is worth an estimated $1.5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Best of luck to Jill and her family as they navigate forward!
