Luann on Divorcing Tom: “She Just Broke Down” (UPDATE)
UPDATE (8/4/17 at 8:06 a.m. ET):
Try as she might, Luann D’Agostino just couldn’t make her marriage to Tom D’Agostino work.
"He wanted to live his bachelor's life too. He's never been married," a source told E! News. "She wanted a marriage, he wanted a part-time marriage."
And, unfortunately, her 50-year-old husband was supposedly always kissing other women.
"He was always kissing other girls. When you're a bachelor for 50 years, it's hard to break old habits,” the source continued.
“But she loved him and wanted to make it work. He loved her too, but had a hard time staying focused."
The former Countess defended her marriage just a couple of weeks ago, but sources say she finally had enough of the drama.
"She just broke down and got tired of trying and hearing these stories about his infidelity. She's going away tomorrow with her kids to regroup. She's a mess."
Another source believes it was Tom who really wanted out of the marriage, as he couldn’t handle her life on reality TV.
"He is the same person he was when Luann met him. He likes to go out and talk to people, but also wanted to live a private life with Luann," a source told Us Weekly.
"Tom couldn't handle the reality TV lifestyle. He was waiting for the hamster wheel to stop after filming, but it did not."

We wish we could say we didn’t see it coming!
And it looks like the Real Housewives of New York couple reached their final straw. After just seven months of marriage, they’re getting a divorce.
Luann herself broke the news on Twitter on Thursday, August 3, asking fans for privacy and understanding.
“It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce. We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!” she writes.

The timing is certainly interesting, seeing as just two weeks ago, the pair made headlines when the Housewife reportedly slapped her husband during an argument in an NYC restaurant.
At the time, she denied the slap, calling it a “lovers’ quarrel.”
“I did not slap him,” she said on Watch What Happens Live. “We have a very passionate love affair going.”
She then added, “We never go to bed angry but when we do, when we wake up, we make up. That's the best part."
According to E! News, the wealthy spouses have a prenuptial agreement, though what it entails is unclear at the moment.
Meanwhile, the NYC native’s co-stars were surprised to find out the news via their friend’s social media.
“Everyone is surprised by the announcement but not shocked by the news,” an insider tells the site. “Friends had been encouraging her to get out of the marriage.”
Ramona Singer spoke with the outlet, stating, “My heart breaks for her. Luann went into this wanting to make it work. I've never seen her happier.”
Also weighing in is Sonja Morgan, who has been quite vocal on RHONY about her friend marrying her former fling.
“I wanted it to work out, but I want her to know I'm here for her,” she told E!.
Wednesday night on WWHL, castmate Bethenny Frankel was asked about Luann and Tom’s turbulent relationship.
“I really feel badly for her, because she's been living this totally out loud,” she admitted to Andy.
Bethenny concluded, "I think it's personal. They got married, and I decided to stay out of it after that.”
This was the first marriage for Tom and second for Luann, who shares two children with ex-husband, French Count Alexandre de Lesseps. The two divorced after 16 years in 2009.
As of publication, Tom had yet to speak out publicly on the breakup.
