Lucy Hale Shares Her Workout and Positive Body Image Tips

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale (Aria) opened up last year about her struggles with an eating disorder and now the actress is hoping that by sharing her experiences, she can help fans going through similar issues.

“If I can help one person, that’s awesome, you know?” Lucy told E! News’s Ali Fedotowsky at the ABC Family screening of Pretty Little Liars on October 15. “I’m just a normal girl, and everyone has issues. I’m just happy if it helps somebody.”

Lucy shared her experiences with an eating disorder in last year’s September issue of Cosmopolitan, saying, “I’ve never really talked about this, but I would go days without eating. Or maybe I’d have some fruit and then go to the gym for three hours.”

Luckily, Lucy was able to overcome her issues with food. “I knew I had a problem,” she told Cosmopolitan. “It was a gradual process but I changed myself.”

These days, the actress is able to work out sensibly.

“I like to run and I work out with a great trainer sometimes,” Lucy shared. “I recently got into hot yoga… which was, up until a few months ago, like forbidden! I hate the heat, but having to stand still and relax has been really good for me. I enjoy exercise. I’m lucky in that sense, but I love food just as much as I love working out! It’s kind of a good balance.”

We couldn’t agree more!
