We haven’t had much opportunity to hear Pretty Little Liars star — and aspiring country musician — Lucy Hale (Aria) sing. Though she has been working on her debut album for the last year, she seems to want to get it right before releasing it into the world. Which is why it’s so exciting to be able to watch her performance of “Nervous Girls” during CMA Awards week!
As a native Tennessean and avid country music fan, Lucy was ecstatic to be in Nashville last week for the CMAs. She showcased her own country music talent at the Bridgestone Arena’s Patron Club, where she performed her sweetly honest song, “Nervous Girls.” With lyrics like this, we can understand why Luce called the making of her album “really scary”: “I'm that girl you think that's got it figured out. But I walk around, with a head full of doubt … I'm scared and I'm brave, or somewhere between the two. I'm beautifully strong, and tragically confused. Yeah I'm that girl, that's just like you.”
Luce finished the performance by telling the audience gathered, “And for all you nervous boys out there. I’m sure there’s a lot of you, too.” Aww. We love how inclusive Lucy is! The video was posted by Froggy Radio Pittsburgh, who mentioned in the video description that he is “rooting for [Lucy] because she’s from [his] hometown of Memphis.” We’re rooting for her, too!
What did you think of Lucy’s performance? Do you think she has what it takes to be a country music star? Sound off in the comments below!
