Before Lucy Hale was shaking things up in Rosewood, she was a wannabe popstar with a huge voice. In fact, Lucy made her TV debut on 2003’s American Juniors (aka the kid version of American Idol) when she was just 14 years old. The future Liar was one of five winning finalists who were assembled into a recording group.

The pop group may not have worked out, but Lucy did make a lifelong friend in American Juniors host Ryan Seacrest. In fact, these two are so close, they can even take a few jabs at each other.

Lucy recently told MTV News, “I got to see Ryan Seacrest with the blondest hair I think he's ever had in his career and the tannest maybe. He had, like, a spray tan I want to say," she said. "I still know him to this day and I did his show not too long ago and was like, 'It's been 10 years since I first met you,' and he's, like, the nicest guy ever."

Then, in response to Lucy’s spray tan comments, Ryan posted this throwback photo of him and 14-year-old Lucy on the set of American Juniors. He wrote: #tbt to the early days hosting American Juniors with a lesser known @lucyhale.” Wow. We miss the days of Ryan’s spray tans and blond highlighted tips. They only thing that would have made this photo more nostalgic for us was if Brian Dunkleman was in it.

What do you think of Lucy and Ryan's throwback photo? Did you know they were such good friends? Sound off in the comments!
