Lupita Nyong’o Debuts Longer Hair on First Red Carpet Since Oscars (VIDEO)
We may be well past award season, but Lupita Nyong'o is still winning over Hollywood red carpets. The 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner wowed us once again when she hit up Marie Claire's Fresh Faces Party on April 8 at Soho House in West Hollywood, California.
For one, her hair appears to be much longer than it was at the 2014 Academy Awards — i.e. the last time she attended a major Tinseltown event. Now, the 31-year-old has it rising skyward in an updo reminiscent of Janelle Monae's iconic look.
Now let's focus on that dress! The off-white frock — from the Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture Collection — features blue floral embroidery radiating from the waist, with a poodle-like skirt flaring out in graceful ruffles below. She finishes off the outfit with Christian Louboutin pumps, Graziela Gems jewels, and a Diana Broussard manicure.
The outfit is just the latest entry in a long series of Lupita’s red carpet victories — the most notable of which include her red-orange Ralph Lauren dress she wore to the 2014 Golden Globes and the silk blue Prada gown in which she accepted her Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Take note, everyone — we have a new fashion icon in our midst!
