Macaulay Culkin’s Band Booed, Pelted With Beer at UK Music Festival (VIDEO)
Doesn't sound like many of the concertgoers at the United Kingdom's Dot to Dot music festival were Home Alone fans — seeing as Macaulay Culkin and his band were reportedly booed off stage at the festival series's May 25 stop in Nottingham, England.
The former child star, now 33, is a member of Pizza Underground, a tribute band that covers Velvet Underground songs with pizza-themed lyrics — e.g. "I'm Waiting for Delivery Man" instead of "I'm Waiting for the Man" and "Pizza Day" instead of "Perfect Day."
But the audience members who turned out to watch the Richie Rich actor and his fellow bandmates perform reportedly booed the band and hurled pints of beer at the stage, according to the Nottingham Post.
"Why are you throwing those?" Mac reportedly shouted out to the angry crowd. "I'd rather drink them!"
Apparently the musicians tried to continue with their set but finally had to beat a hasty retreat.
A statement from the organizers of the concert chided the rowdy hecklers: "After barnstorming sets at both Dot To Dot Manchester and Dot To Dot Bristol, it's such a shame that some members of the crowd had to ruin what was set to be an excellent show. A sentiment echoed by the band themselves. Hopefully they'll get to play in Nottingham again one day soon."
