Teen Mom 3's Mackenzie Douthit has been rushed to hospital in her home town of Miami, Oklahoma. This reality star suffers from Type 1 diabetes, and her condition has been exacerbated due to her current pregnancy. Mackenzie is 36-weeks pregnant with her second child (a baby girl), and it appears as though a recent drop in her blood sugar led to her hospitalization.
Mackenzie's mother, Angie, confirmed the news on January 30, tweeting, "At hospital with Mic! Trying to stop low blood sugars. Hoping to keep baby girl in for at least another week!"
An early delivery at 36 weeks is considered premature, but Mackenzie's baby will likely be in good health at this point — with fully developed lungs. However, the closer to the 40-week mark this kiddo is, the better.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie has been disappointed in the care she's received during her high-risk pregnancy. In fact, a team of doctors dropped her after questioning the validity of her symptoms.
"I rushed to my moms work crying and she called and they hung up on her and sent us a letter saying they dropped me," Mackenzie said. "Ok is it me or is that very unprofessional? ?? Here I am about to pop and having the worst blood sugars not knowing if my daughter is gonna be ok because they did this and I have no diabetic care. Anyways please pray for me and baby girl."
Sounds like Mackenzie just can't catch a break! This isn't the first time she's been rushed to the hospital due to a dip in her blood sugar, but hopefully it will be the last.
