Update: Jon's rep confirmed the news in a statement to People, saying that the actor will undergo a "routine outpatient procedure" to have a "single polyp removed from his throat."

Don Draper is headed to the hospital!

Life & Style reports that Mad Men actor Jon Hamm is scheduled to have surgery in Boston next week to remove two large polyps from his vocal chords. The hunky actor apparently made the decision to go under the knife after he reportedly coughed up blood and followed up with a team of doctors who discovered the polyps.

According to Life & Style, Jon’s Mad Men co-star January Jones was overheard talking about the 42-year-old actor’s upcoming procedure at the Fox Emmys after party on September 22. The mag also notes that actors and singers who use their vocal chords a great deal are often prone to polyps.

Jon’s upcoming surgery will likely have no effect on Season 7 of Mad Men, which is scheduled to air in two parts before finally concluding in Spring 2015.

Do you think it’s likely that Jon is headed into an operating rumor to remove polyps, or is this just another crazy rumor? Weigh in below!
