Magic Mike, Take This Waltz, Ted: Wetpaint Entertainment’s Sexy-Not Sexy Weekend Movie Guide, 6/29
Not much happening on the social calendar this weekend? Sounds like a movie is in order. Here's the scoop on three flicks showing this Friday, June 29.
A veteran stripper ready to change his lifestyle (Channing Tatum) takes a rookie (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing, teaching him all he knows about the business... and falling in love with his protegé's sister in the process. Also starring are Matthew McConaughey, Glee guest star Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello. As in Alcide from True Blood. As in OMG. Sexy: Scantily clad Channing, Alex, Matthew, JOE, the list goes on Not sexy: We got nothing Verdict: As if you haven't had the release of this movie marked on your calendar for months! Round up your ladies for drinks and a night of woo-hooing at the theater.
When Margot (Michelle Williams) meets Daniel (Luke Kirby) on a plane ride, he seems like the perfect guy — and their chemistry is undeniable. Only problem? Margot is married to Lou (Seth Rogen). To make things complicated, Lou is kinda awesome. Even more complicated, Daniel turns out to live across the street from the couple. Oh, life, why can't you just be easy? Sexy: Innocent flirting Not sexy: Not-so-innocent flirting Verdict: This looks amazing, ideal for a matinee with your bestie or even a solo trip to the theater on a rainy day.
From the creator of Family Guy comes this hilarious tale about a man and his stuffed bear, Ted. After making a wish back when he was 8 years old, John (Mark Wahlberg) wakes up to find that his bear (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) can move and talk to him! The fun starts to wear off, though, as both John and Ted grow older together and John can't shake his constant companion, much to his girlfriend's (Mila Kunis) dismay. Sexy: Mark Wahlberg Not sexy: Having to compete with a stuffed animal Verdict: If watching Family Guy makes you pee your pants from laughing, this comedy is a must-see... and a perfect choice for a date night with your man.
