Maks Says He Will Never Speak To Karina Again, But J.R. Should Win DWTS Season 13

It may be time for another feud alert: Webster’s vs. Maksim Chmerkovskiy over the definition of “bitter.”

The Dancing With the Stars pro, eliminated after the Season 13 semifinals, admitted to the New York Post that there is still “bad blood” between him and his ex-fiancee, Karina Smirnoff, who made the finals with J.R. Martinez. In fact, Maks said he and Karina haven’t spoken in the two years since they broke up.

“I will never speak to that person again,” Maks said. “And I never have. It has been years now. But I am not bitter.” Sounds pretty bitter, actually. Maks said the fact that they have to work side by side every week isn’t easy. “But I just go about my business and do my thing. It is very hard.”

Point to ponder: What if fans had voted for Maks and Karina to perform together in the Design A Dance? Would they have just been professional? Spoken in hand signals? Through a third party?

Despite his lack of affection for Karina, Maks does think she should win her first Mirror Ball trophy this season — because of J.R. “If J.R. doesn’t win, there is something fundamentally wrong with America,” Maks told the Post. “I think J.R. deserves it. It is his right to walk into Dancing With The Stars and walk away with the trophy. But on top of all of that, he is a great dancer.”

Read the full story for more, although for some reason the report says he was most recently linked to Lauren Conrad and we think they may mean Maks’ frenemy, Derek Hough.
