Mandy Moore Still Haunted By Justin Timberlake’s Nearly 20-Year-Old Diss
The This Is Us star served as an opening act during 1999’s NSYNC in Concert tour and couldn’t believe her luck when she got to hang out with the heartthrob backstage.
But things took a turn for the awkward when JT majorly dissed Miss Mandy.
"I remember distinctly one time walking backstage, and I didn't really see much of the guys because I was the measly opening act," she told Late Late Show host James Corden.
"Nobody cared about me but Justin Timberlake, and somehow there was a conversation about feet or foot size,” the 32-year-old continued. “They were comparing shoe size.”
Justin, 35, noticed something surprising about Mandy’s kicks.
“I stroll up at 15, like freaking out that Justin Timberlake is there," the “Candy” singer explained. "He was like, 'You have big feet for a girl.'"
The NBC actress was crushed, just like any other girl would’ve been in 1999.
"I'm sure he doesn't remember this at all but I was so impressionable,” she confessed, “and I thought the world of him and he was on a pedestal.”
“I mean 16 years later it stuck with me, so it really scarred me emotionally."
Somehow, the uncomfortable admissions didn’t stop there, as Mandy also revealed which pop star talent she’s sorely lacking.
"I have no rhythm. I'm super awkward," she admitted.
"I think the powers that be realized very early on… 'You know what, you should just have background dancers.'"
Let’s all be thankful NBC hasn’t requested a Crazy Ex-Girlfriend-level TIU dance sequence from Rebecca yet.
This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
