Mariah Carey Barely Survived “Abusive” ‘American Idol’
The legendary diva has briefly moved her crosshairs from Nicki Minaj to the show the two (barely) coexisted on.
During the Television Critics Association press tour, Mariah described her lone season on American Idol as, “the most abusive experience,” before lifting her glass of champagne and declaring questions about it have, “driven her to drink.”
To add fuel to the flames, the 46-year-old was not part of the American Idol series finale earlier this year and joked, "I was heartbroken. I was in misery, no really, I was at home crying."
Now, back to Nicki Minaj …
Mariah took a swipe at Nicki during an interview with Watch What Happens Live star Andy Cohen when asked to reveal "three nice things" about the “Starships” hitmaker.
The “Elusive Chanteuse” paused before turning the question on the presenter, replying, "Can you?"
Despite the poor experience on Idol, the singer is out promoting her upcoming reality series Mariah’s World.
Former American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe jokingly wondered whether Nicki would appear on the show, telling Billboard, "I'm looking forward to Mariah's new series and wondering if Nicki Minaj may guest."
The “Fantasy” hitmaker has been outspoken in her criticism of Nicki, describing working with her as being in, "hell with Satan."
"It was like hell going to work every day ... with Satan,” she said. "I'm just playing; it didn't affect me that much."

Despite “playing,” we’re willing to bet Nicki Minaj will not be making any guest appearances on Mariah’s World.
Here’s to hoping Mariah’s second TV stint lasts longer than her first.
