Mariah Carey Rushed to Hospital After Injuring Shoulder During Video Shoot
When you’re Mariah Carey, being beautiful can sometimes be a hazard!
The former American Idol judge was rushed to New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery on the Upper East Side late at night on July 7 after dislocating her shoulder on the set of a video shoot for the remix of her latest single, “#Beautiful.”
According to Cindi Berger, Maria’s spokeswoman, the diva was treated for her injury and sent home shortly after.
“She was taken to the hospital late last night, where doctors reset her shoulder,” the rep told E! News. “She is fine and is recovering at home.”
Thankfully, Mariah Carey was in good company while filming the video: husband Nick Cannon was the director! Neither Mariah or Nick gave any indication an accident had taken place during the shoot. Nick tweeted a shout out to a couple of New York businesses that helped out with the project on short notice, while Mariah retweeted a message from one of the video’s collaborators celebrating the wrap of the shoot.
Despite the setback, Mariah is still set to perform at a Hurricane Sandy fundraiser in Central Park on Saturday, July 13. We’re hoping she has a fast and full recovery!
