It's time to turn on your favorite Mariah Carey ballad and say a prayer for one of entertainment's most beloved power couples. According to Page Six, Mariah and hubby Nick Cannon are on the verge of a breakup after six years of marital bliss. Say it ain't so!
What went wrong? Watch the video above for the shocking details!
Mariah and Nick were married in 2008 in the Bahamas and welcomed fraternal twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, aka "DemBabies," in April 2011. The couple renewed their vows in Paris for their fourth anniversary, and even have tattoos of each other's names. The pair met on the set of Mariah's "Bye, Bye" music video and it was love at first sight.
Unfortunately, things have reportedly been heading south for some time. The 44-year-old R&B diva was pretty peeved at Nick, 33, earlier this year when he ditched her on Valentine's Day to host the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. The two made headlines again when Nick dished intimate details of their private life during an appearance on Howard Stern, bragging that sex with Mariah was the best he'd ever had — and the "#Beautiful" singer was none too pleased.
It hasn't been a great year for Mariah career-wise either, with her last album, Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse, selling just 58,000 copies in its opening week — by far Mariah's biggest flop. Also out of character for Mimi — who still holds the title of best-selling female singer of all time — is her noticeable lack of promotional effort for the album, which has raised some eyebrows amongst lambs (aka Mariah fans) about possible drama in her personal life.
Despite these setbacks, Mariah seems to be in good spirits, flooding her Instagram page with pictures of DemBabies and her new Butterfly beverage. And Page Six reports that Nick was spotted wearing his wedding ring this past weekend while attending a birthday party at Tao Downtown.
What do you guys think? Are Mariah and Nick really saying "Bye, Bye" to their relationship, or will Nick always be her baby? Tell us in the comments below!
