"After last season, I took three months off where I didn't dance or train," the dancer admitted to People.
However, a few months ago he decided to turn things around by hitting the gym while under the watchful eye of trainer Alec Penix, who also works with Season 21 contestant Carlos PenaVega.

"I'm in the gym five times a week and I've been doing a lot of cardio," Mark explained.
Also helpful in dropping all that weight so quickly was a major overhaul of his diet. Mark says he cut out sugar, dairy, bread, and "everything GMO."

While Mark's injury obviously meant he had to tone down his workout plan some, he says he's still happy with where he's at. In fact, he thinks he's "on the road now to have the best body I've ever had."
So, this means more shirtless dances in the future, right?
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
