Mark Ruffalo Blames Ben Affleck for the End of His Friendship With Jennifer Garner (VIDEO)
Mark Ruffalo doesn't like these apples. One of the Avengers star's breakout roles was starring opposite Jennifer Garner in 2004 rom-com 13 Going on 30. But Mark says now that he and Jen are no longer close — and that Ben Affleck is to blame.
Mark, 46, appeared on Watch What Happens Live on June 26 with Keira Knightley to promote their new film, Begin Again. Mark was asked by a caller whether he still keeps in touch with Jennifer, to which Mark shook his head.
"We had a great time together, and I think we would, but then Ben [Affleck] came on the scene, and that was the end of that," Mark said with a smile. He added that it's "sad" that he and Jennifer haven't stayed tight in the ten years since the film hit theaters.
Jen and Ben, who now have three kids together, started dating in 2004 and were married in 2005. Mark has three children with wife Sunrise Coigney, whom he wed in 2000.
We're a little surprised that Mark and Ben aren't friends, especially since they've both played superheroes — Mark as the Hulk, Ben as Daredevil and now Batman. Hopefully, Mark and Jennifer can get back in touch one of these days!
Are you surprised that Mark and Jennifer aren't friends? And is it weird that Mark would call out Ben like this?
