‘Married at First Sight’ Bride Freezes Walking Down the Aisle! (VIDEO) — Exclusive
Marrying a stranger is rife with drama — that’s why Married at First Sight is embarking on its fifth season.
However, tonight’s two-hour Season 5 premiere seems particularly intense, including one bride and her father who totally freeze up partway through the wedding ceremony!
We have an exclusive sneak peek of the tense moment, which we’ll see in its entirety tonight on Lifetime. (The series recently moved from FYI after four seasons.)
It all goes down during car rental manager Nate’s ceremony with his new bride, Sheila.
At first, it seems the 25-year-old groom’s parents are going to be the issue.
“My mom doesn’t approve of me marrying a stranger — my parents never married,” he explains.
However, his parents are there supporting him and on good behavior (for the time being).
On the other hand, his 30-year-old bride and her father seem a lot more relaxed as they prepare to walk down the aisle.
“I think marriage is the foundation you build upon,” the facilities manager tells the cameras confidently, decked out in her wedding gown.
“I am sincere and — although imperfect and flawed — I am capable of loving someone the way God intended.”
She does have an “intense” moment where nerves kick in, but her dad Charles comes to the rescue, telling her she’s “ready.”
“I think that you was born for this day,” he states. However, that ease doesn’t last long!
As they reach the end of the aisle and the doors open, Nate reacts to seeing his soon-to-be wife for the first time — and it’s very positive!
Unfortunately, his new father-in-law is about to lose his cool. See what we mean in the below clip!
Hey, at least they’re not alone!
In a separate preview, we witness another couple, Cody and Danielle, dealing with a similar cold feet situation.
"I feel terrified about marrying somebody I've never met,” she admits to the cameras. “We don't know anything about each other. I keep questioning getting married.”
It only gets worse when the groom realizes his bride might not be coming.
“It's just hard to keep waiting around — I don't know what's going on," he says frantically.
“I'm scared — what if she changed her mind? Or if it didn't work out, it would be devastating.… Like, this is f—ked up,” he rambles.
Married at First Sight premieres tonight, April 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
