Given their rocky relationship, we were surprised Married at First Sight’s Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast made it almost a year.

The Season 4 couple filed for divorce on March 12, but now we’re learning it was over long before that.

The folks over at RadarOnline.com got a hold of the actual divorce paperwork for the pair, which is quite revealing.

According to the docs, it was Sonia who first asked for the divorce to be granted in the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court.

The social worker calls the marriage “irretrievably broken” in the filing, choosing not to ask for alimony.

Not to be outdone, Nick responded to her filing two days later on March 14.

Just over a week later, the pair announced their split on social media via a joint statement.

“We are sad to share that after almost a year of marriage, we have decided to separate and file for divorce,” the statement reads.

“Thank you in advance for your love and support through this difficult time! We look forward to growing and continuing to learn about ourselves from what we still consider to be a meaningful experience with MAFS.”

Sonia captions her post, “Don’t be discouraged. This is still a love story.”

However, it sounds like that love story was shorter than portrayed, as the legal docs reveal the true date of separation...

Which was way back in December!

Still, it shouldn’t be a total surprise to viewers, seeing as they almost broke up during filming.

The realtor was honest that his attraction to his wife wasn’t “where it needs to be.”

Meanwhile, she struggled with insecurity caused by that very issue, and they even lived separately at one point.

Hey, if you’re not happy, why stay together, right?
