Martin Short: Lea Michele Is “Better” Than Judy Garland in Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return
Wizard of Oz is one of the most beloved movies ever made, and that film's star, Judy Garland, is a Hollywood icon. But is Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) even better at playing Dorothy than Judy was?
Lea voices Dorothy in the new animated film Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return, which hits theaters on May 9. And Lea's co-star in the film, Martin Short — who voices the Wicked Witch's younger brother, Jester — had nothing but high praise for Lea's performance.
"You're way better than that hack Judy Garland," Martin quipped to Lea at the film's premiere on May 3. Clearly, Martin is kidding, since Judy was not a hack. However, it's very sweet that Martin is so supportive of Lea.
And how did Lea respond to Martin's hilarious compliment? "I'm pretty sure that a house is going to fall on you later for saying that," she told him. Talk about an awesome retort!
Regardless of how Lea compares to Judy, there's no doubt that we can't wait to see the new film! And Glee's stars are on a hot streak when it comes to animated films lately, as Jonathan Groff (Jesse) and Adele Dazeem Idina Menzel (Shelby) both voiced roles in the massive hit Frozen.
