Martyn LeNoble — frontman of rock band Porno for Pyros and husband of actress Christina Applegate — had a brush with the law October 13, in Studio City, California, after an alleged dust-up with a paparazzo.
Video published by TMZ shows police officers restraining and patting down the 44-year-old rocker, but in the next shot, Martyn's hands are unbound, and he's giving his account of the events to the cops.
According to Martyn, the paparazzo in question shot photos of him, Christina, and their two-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace, at a birthday party. Martyn says he went outside to talk to the fella, and that's where the photographer "got physical," even trying to get a rise out of Martyn with the words "Let's see what kind of man you are."
The police eventually released Martyn, and TMZ reports that the paparazzo isn't pressing charges. Whether Martyn decides to, however, remains to be seen.
Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner testified before the California State Assembly in August about the emotional harm paparazzi cause their children — and, thanks to efforts like theirs, Governor Jerry Brown signed Bill 606 into law in September, thus enforcing penalties against photographers who harass celeb kids.
So, regardless of what may or may not have happened yesterday, that photographer who clashed with Martyn should play it safe from now on.
