When Does Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Premiere?
Can you believe it's been over a year since Marvel's The Avengers debuted in theaters? Joss Whedon diehards have been waiting since then on bated breath to learn what exactly happened to Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) after his apparent death at the hands of Loki before the Battle of New York. Fortunately for the Marvel fans among us (hi), it looks like those answers will be coming soon, as Avengers follow-up Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premiere tonight, September 24, 2013, at 8 p.m. on ABC!
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows Coulson and several other S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives as they work together to take on government cases ranging from security threats to superhumans. Joss Whedon is back behind the wheel for the show as creator and executive producer, while brother Jed Whedon and Dollhouse writer Maurissa Tancharoen will be splitting showrunner duties with him.
Gregg's Agent Coulson leads the cast, but the show features some other serious talent including ER's Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Nashville's Chloe Bennett as civilian recruit/computer hacker Skye, and Cobie Smulders, who reprises her role from The Avengers as Maria Hill.
