Matt Damon Says his Family Is “Excited” About Upcoming Move From New York to L.A.
Matt Damon’s family will soon be trading bagels and lox for fish tacos on the beach.
Whether acting, directing, or working with various charities, the 42-year-old father of four with wife Luciana Barrosso has always seemed like he has an impressive amount of energy. He’s going to need that energy for his upcoming cross-country move from NYC to Hollywood.
Us Magazine recently caught up with the actor at the screening of his new movie, Elysium, and asked Damon how the family — Alexia, 14, Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship; Isabella, 6; Gia, 4; and Stella, 2 — were feeling about becoming West Coasters.
"Our oldest one is excited," he said, adding, "The younger ones, I think it's kind of hard for them to grasp it. That said, they're looking forward to a change of scenery. They'll have a yard, and they're really excited about that. That's not something you get [in New York City]."
On a recent TODAY appearance, the actor seemed a little torn about leaving the Big Apple. “Basically all of our friends with little kids are out there [in L.A.],” he said. “We're a little conflicted. We love it here, we're really happy here and New York will always be here. It might just turn out to be a little jaunt out there and then a return... It's hard to leave here."
Although the internet’s abuzz with rumors that Damon will buy a house nearby friend and collaborator Ben Affleck, we’ll believe it when we see it. In the meantime, good lluck with your move, Matt and family!
