Vampire Diaries’ Matt Davis Joins CSI Season 14 in Recurring Role

Matt Davis is moving to Sin City.

According to TVLine, the Vampire Diaries star is set to recur on CSI Season 14, and he’s playing a character who reminds us of Alaric Saltzman! Matt is set to recur as a currently-unnamed “smart, athletic, and competitive son of a decorated fireman” who is outgoing on the surface, but deep down is a “bit of a loner, with the soul of a poet and the mind of a mathematician.”

While we’re guessing he won’t have a deep love for history and a Gilbert ring to keep him alive, we’re just glad to have Matt back on TV. After his new CW show Cult was canceled, he’s been noticeably absent from our television screens. Thankfully, that will change when his first episode airs in late October — just in time for Halloween!

Since this is a recurring role, it leaves the door open for ghost Alaric to pop up in TVD Season 5, or perhaps even The Originals. The latter is less likely, but you never know — maybe he’ll move over to The Tomorrow People, too!

Are you excited to see Matt on CSI? Sound off below!
