All the Evidence Donald and Melania Trump’s Marriage Is in Trouble (UPDATE)
UPDATE (5/22/2017 at 1:00 p.m. ET): At this point it's become a running joke that Melania Trump doesn't care for her husband, but it's hard to argue with video evidence!
As the first lady deplaned in Tel Aviv during their presidential first foreign trip, she appeared to swat at the commander-in-chief in a now-viral video.
In the looped clip, POTUS appears to try to take his wife's hand, only to have her quickly bat it away and continue walking down the tarmac.
Awkward is an understatement, people.

Original story (5/3/2017 at 3:30 p.m. ET): If Melania Trump’s apparent Twitter activity is any indication, we could see our first White House divorce sometime soon.
Last night’s social media gaffe is just one of many moments casting doubt on President Trump and the First Lady’s matrimonial bliss, as Twitter users continue to beg someone — anyone! — to #SaveMelania.
On May 2, Melania’s personal Twitter account favorited a tweet criticizing her husband, and it stayed favorited for 45 minutes.
The tweet in question came from writer Andy Ostroy, who wrote, “Seems the only #Wall @realDonaldTrump’s built is the one between him and @FLOTUS #Melania #trump.”
Stephanie Grisham, Melania’s communications director, seems to want us to think the @MELANIATRUMP account had been hacked.
“The First Lady wasn’t aware of any of this until I brought it to her attention,” Stephanie told People. “It isn’t her primary account and we have since changed the passwords.”
The clip Andy’s tweet included is a 9-second moment from Trump’s inauguration, one that went viral in its own right four months ago.
In that video, Donald appears to say something to Melania as his back is turned to the camera, and as he turns to face forward again, the First Lady stops smiling and looks crestfallen.
Facebook page Blast Avenue shared the video on January 23 with the caption “OMG, what did he say to her? RUN MELANIA!”
It’s been viewed over 27 million times.
That certainly wasn’t the last time Donald and Melania’s body language was scrutinized. Take, for instance, all the times Trump kept distance between himself and his wife as they got on or off Air Force One.
“In the photographs, what we’re clearly seeing is that Donald Trump is walking not just one stair ahead, not two stairs ahead, but a few feet ahead. She’s not being accompanied by him,” etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore told HuffPost.
“If you look at some of the old photos of Ronald and Nancy Reagan or the Obamas, they are very close together. In other words, they’re a unit, they’re a couple, they’re engaging in this activity together.”
Donald also left his wife behind on Inauguration Day when he arrived at the White House and got out the car to greet the Obamas. Eight years prior, when the Obamas greeted the Bushes, Barack chivalrously helped Michelle out of the car.
Then, once the Trumps and Obamas had exchanged pleasantries, Donald strode into the White House, and Barack and Michelle had to be the ones to escort Melania in.
“When I look at the video [from the inauguration], this same thing rings true. President Trump should have never bounded up those steps, leaving his wife behind on the opposite side of the car,” etiquette expert Elaine Swann told HuffPost.
“The proper way to go up the stairs is the lady always goes first, and then the gentleman follows behind her – whether you are the President or not.”
Back on the topic of Air Force One, a February video of the Trumps getting off the plane in West Palm Beach, Florida, appears to show Donald preventing Melania from getting in on his side of the SUV.

That same night, Melania seemed to recoil from Donald’s touch at a rally in Melbourne, Florida.
“Right when Donald Trump walked by, I noticed there was a shift in her demeanor. That’s showing disdain,” body language expert Lillian Glass explained to Elite Daily.
“He came up behind her, it was the touch on the shoulder and the shoulder shrugging to dismiss him.”
An even stronger condemnation of their relationship, however, came from body language expert Susan Constantine.
“If you didn’t know that they were married, you wouldn’t know that they are married,” she told Mic.
“Melania is an object to [Donald] … I don't see any warmth or true love and compassion in that relationship whatsoever.”
