This week on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, the gang's excursion to Miraval in Arizona wrapped up with a celebration for Melissa Gorga's birthday. The guest of honor took a moment to make a toast to her friends and family, but she failed to mention everyone by name. But, Melissa took to her blog shortly after the episode aired to insist that it wasn't an intentional snub.
"I was grateful for the opportunity to thank our family and friends at my birthday dinner. I addressed individuals as part of a couple and I gave extra love to those who needed the positive attention and appreciation," Melissa explained.
In particular, she gave props to Joe Giudice, Kathy Wakile, and Rosie for opening up. Unfortunately, some people felt that she purposely failed to include the others in her roundup, especially Teresa Giudice.
"Somehow, my singling out some with special admiration got twisted into 'snubbing' others," Melissa wrote, adding, "That was not the vibe in the room or my intention. Frankly, I was upset to hear that anyone interpreted it that way."
This isn't the first time we've seen controversy surrounding a Jersey toast. During Season 4, Teresa famously omitted her cousin, Kathy, from her list of thank yous during a toast concluding the group's trip to California. Maybe it's payback time?
Do you think Melissa consciously left Teresa out or was the situation truly misinterpreted? Sound off in the comments section below!
