Melissa Gorga proved that she wasn’t a Jersey wife you want to mess with during Sunday night’s episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey. While the two Joes ( Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice) battled it out, Mel stepped in, trying to break the guys up — writing on her Bravo TV blog that she went into “Mama Bear mode.”
“I just wanted to get them off of each other,” Melissa wrote about defending her husband during the brawl. “It’s pure instinct to try to help your loved ones when you feel like they may be in danger. I was in Mama Bear mode. The claws came out. ”
And while Melissa is the first to admit that her husband attacking Joe Giudice wasn’t the right thing to do, she went on to describe her interference as being a product of her loyalty to her man:
“I can and will do anything to protect my husband from people who tried to do him harm, physically and emotionally,” she wrote.
Melissa also made sure to point on that she knew sister-in-law Teresa Giudice was nowhere to be seen during the fight, ultimately turning the story into a cry for help instead of helping to bring an end to the brawl.
“Teresa told Joe that she was the one that had to go in there and break up the fight! Really? She wasn’t there!” Mel blogged. “Whatever her excuse will be, the fact is she ran in the opposite direction when her husband and brother were trying to kill each other.”
While we were relieved to see Joe Gorga and Tre break down their walls by the end of the episode, we definitely have to give Mel kudos for standing by her man during the showdown. If she’s not a loyal wife, we don’t know who is!
