Melissa McBride Thanks Fans For Support After Critics’ Choice Television Award Nom

The Walking Dead’s Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier) may now officially be able to call herself a Critics’ Choice Television Award nominated actress, but the 49-year-old is just as humble as ever.

On May 29 Melissa tweeted, “So much awesome support, thanks! Congrats to #AMC - 6 nominations! Proud to be included & happy for our #TWDfamily.” In case you missed it, Melissa was nominated for an award in the Best Supporting Actress category earlier this week, and while we’d like to see her go home with all of the awards, she’s got some stiff competition.

Also nominated in Melissa’s category are Christine Baranski from The Good Wife (CBS), Anna Gunn from Breaking Bad (AMC), Annet Mahendru from The Americans (FX), Maggie Siff from Sons of Anarchy (FX), and Bellamy Young from Scandal (ABC). Again, we think Melissa more than deserves this honor after her flawless performance in Season 4, but if for some reason she doesn’t go home with the prize then AMC has five other chances to win.

Also nominated from the network are Breaking Bad for Best Drama Series, Bryan Cranston for Best Actor in a Drama Series, Aaron Paul for Best Supporting Actor alongside The Killing‘s Peter Sarsgaard, and Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn scored a nomination in the same category as Melissa. Talk about a tough category, huh? Nicely done, AMC!

Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait before we find out which actors and actresses reign supreme. The winners will be announced during a ceremony on Thursday, June 19th, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Do you think Melissa has a good shot at nabbing this award? Tell us your opinion below!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
