Melissa Rycroft Talks Getting Ready For Her Baby Boy! — Exclusive

2014 will be a busy one for Bachelor alum and TV personality Melissa Rycroft. Not only will she and hubby Tye Strickland continue to balance their careers while running after daughter Ava, nearly 2, they’ll be adding a new baby boy to the mix! Melissa's due to give birth to a son this spring.

While knee-deep into the holidays, she graciously took the time to check in with Wetpaint Entertainment and fill us in on how everyone’s preparing for the exciting new arrival!

How are you preparing for the second baby?

Honestly, we haven't done much yet! With all the holidays, we've been so focused on that. This time around, things seem to be moving so much more quickly. I'm not sure if it's because we've had so many holiday distractions, or maybe the fact that I'm running around after a toddler everyday, but time is flying by! We have a trip planned to NY in January to pick out baby boy's furniture at Bellini - so that’s step one.

What will you do differently with a boy than you did with Ava?

I guess we'll see! I've obviously never had a son, so I'll be learning all over again. But I can't wait. I'm so excited to get to experience the bond between a mother and daughter AND a mother and son. I feel very blessed.

Is Ava excited? You mentioned before she didn't want a sibling.

She is! However, she has no idea that in a few short months, her life is going to be turned upside down, too. She loves rubbing my belly and giving him kisses….but we'll have to see how good she's going to be at the sharing thing once he's actually here.

What are the biggest changes you're anticipating when the little one comes? Just juggling everything. I finally feel like I've got everything balanced perfectly with Ava: work, marriage, family life. And just when I feel in control, we're about to be given another curveball! It's been awhile since we've had a newborn in the house, so I’m definitely going to be learning the new-mom thing all over. And I always hear people say that two is so much harder than one…but I can't wait!
